I have written features for the Sunday Times, Daily Telegraph and Independent and have worked as an editor and production journalist, particularly on Colour Supplements. My last staff post was chief sub-editor on the Sunday Times Magazine. I have been involved in many special projects including Mozart, Wordpower, Business, for the Sunday Times; Food Routes of Europe, Taste of Britain for the Sunday Express; The British Empire, AD:2000 Years of Christianity and How We Saw It for the Daily Telegraph; and the 180th anniversary special for the Spectator
I recently helped to edit Russia Beyond the Headlines, an 8-page monthly broadsheet supplement published in the Daily Telegraph for the Russian state newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

I have worked on a diverse number of magazines, from Titbits and Mayfair to The Sunday Times Magazine and National Geographic Traveler. I was editor of Mercedez magazine for Southeast Asia. I was for many years Associate Editor of Cornucopia , an upmarket magazine for 'Conoisseurs of Turkey'.

Publishing
I have a publishing concern, Bristol Book Publishing, based on the Hotel Bristol Project.

Bristol Book Publishing is an innovative low cost facilitator, printing, hosting and promoting print and web-based books and content. One of its aims is to get people's manuscripts into print for as little as £500.

Web

I edited the web pages of the Istanbul Centre in Brussels, and for Istanbul City of Culture 2010, and contribute to Dorling Kinderley's web pages

TRAVEL BOOKS

For more than a dozen years I have been a freelance editor for Insight Guides, and have written a number of books for them, and was involved in their latest guide, to the Silk Road. I have also written travel guide titles for Dorling Kindersley (Barcelona, Provence, Top 10 London), Berlitz and Thomas Cook, and contributed to books by National Geographic.
